Creams Cafe!

I love dessert. I am a sweet treat after-dinner person, and I don't think I would ever pass up the right dessert. On our first full day in London, we were trying to find a place to eat dinner, and I stumbled upon Creams Cafe. I was intrigued by the name of the restaurant, and you can imagine my joy when I found out that it is a late-night dessert joint. We ended up deciding to go that night, and after looking at the menu, we decided that dinner was going to happen after dessert that day. The image to the right is what I ordered at the restaurant. It was called the triple treat cookie dough, and I made the decision to order this after looking at the menu for an hour. It had chocolate chip cookie dough, chocolate chocolate chip cookie dough, and white chocolate cookie dough. Then it was topped with white chocolate drizzle and shavings, an Oreo, a chocolate, and Oreo gelato. It also came with a side of soft serve ice cream. This was one of the most delicious things that I have ever eaten in my entire life. The cookie was warm, and it was one of the yummiest things ever. We never made it to dinner that night. We all filled up on dessert instead. Which honestly, was one of the best decisions I could have made.

The next night, we decided that we wanted to go back to Creams Cafe, because it was so good the night before. We did get dinner this night, it was Taco Bell. I have been craving Taco Bell since leaving the States. It was so good, but it was also a nice light meal, which allowed me to still have room for dessert later. The image on the left is the dessert that I ordered the second time that we went to Creams Cafe. I again ordered their version of cookie dough, but I got a different flavor this time. I ordered the Oreo cookie dough, which was chocolate-chocolate chip cookie dough as the base. It had white chocolate drizzle and shavings, as well as Oreo pieces on top. Then it was topped with an Oreo and Oreo gelato. It came with a side of soft serve ice cream. I think that this dessert was the best one that I got over the weekend. This one was a little bit lighter than the cookie dough that I got the night before. This cafe was one of my favorite things that I had in London, just because of how good everything I got there was.

W. B. Yeats' poem "A Drinking Song" talks about the pleasures of indulgence, specifically when drinking; however, I have found that there is much more pleasure in the indulgence of dessert than in drinking. I have always said the dessert is my vice, which I think that many people can say about drinking. I love dessert, and being able to connect poetry to something that I love, allows me to better appreciate the poems themselves.
